Our Process

Working with Smith & Vallee Cabinet Makers is simple, creative and efficient from design through manufacturing.

Our Process

We help you achieve the environment you want and bring your vision to life. If you have a completed design, click here to request a quote on your project and we will quickly provide a complimentary estimate. If you don’t have a design, schedule an appointment at our design studio in Edison, WA to conceptualize your ideas. Our designers listen to your ideas and offer advice to help you achieve the environment you want.

Once we have created a basic design and established the scope of your project, we will provide you with a quote. Upon project approval, we visit your site, make measurements and continue the design process. We then build your project at our shop in Edison.

Our signature cabinets are constructed in-house using 3/4-inch birch plywood boxes with full-overlay, soft closing doors and drawer faces.  A slim 1/8-inch reveal divides your choice of either the craftsman shaker-style or the contemporary flat panel fronts that will highlight the aesthetic of your project. To achieve a harmonious look throughout the design, we carefully select our hardwoods and grain match from panel to panel by utilizing sequence matched sheets of FSC Certified veneered plywood.

Whether you’re after a natural clear, stained or painted casework, all of the parts are finished in our state-of-the-art finishing booth using only top of the line waterborne products.  These low maintenance, durable finishes release almost no VOC off-gas and are easy to clean without the use of chemicals.  The end result is a beautiful satin sheen that will protect the integrity of your cabinets for years to come.

We pay attention to the little details along the way to ensure a final product that we can look upon with pride. The whole process is collaborative and efficient.
